Fundellas and Money Motivators

WE RAISED SO MUCH MONEY AS A YEAR GROUP BEFORE THE MFA FINAL SHOW...THIS HAS HELPED ENORMOUSLY WITH THE PLANNING TIME CONSTRAINTS AND EXPENSES OF THE MFA EXPERIENCE...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.a SMALL INDIVIDUAL CASH CONTRIBUTION ADDED TO THIS SECURED ALL OUR NEEDS.

The fundellas and money motivators were a formidable money generating team. We were relentless in our pursuit of finance for the Crypt. Together we divided up the roles and went off for the summer to recouperate, post first year.

Before we knew it, we had to get the money rolling in ASAP. Bills were due.

As always on these occasions most people pull together, but there is usually one or two who do not ever realise their responsibilities.

Never the less, the marvelous baking crew, plus the bootsale gang and the force of nature that is the wonderful Naomi, and myself, steadily pulled in the cash. (After a loan from John Grainger to fill the gap. Thank you John!!).

The Private view, transport and other expenses were all covered.

The party seemed like a solve all solution, but in the end it was not entirely. It was reasonably well attended but could have been much busier (although we made a very healthy profit)....Why did co MFAers not realise that it was for their future projects?

It was a great occasion for those in attendance but boy did we have to work hard to encourage people to rally and turn up !!

This was a graphic lesson in don't count your chickens...but honestly. What is wrong with people? Do they not get the true general meaning of collaboration? It is not just an art term.

I couldn't help reflecting that some people are great talkers but not doers.

I know that I can talk a great deal, but I like to think I put my money literally where my mouth is......this has been a very enlightening experience. Some individuals are dishonest. They espouse wonderful eco communal theory but do not not practice it. Hey, pretentious Art college is alive and kicking!!

But on a fabulously positive note, Naomi and I did manage to secure a free venue from pure blagging.

I am proud of what we achieved. But is it sustainable? Or do others need to realise they have to contribute to the common goal?
