What a joy this was!!
I wanted to do it all over again immediately. It was full of surprises and unexpected outcomes. It was a very organic experience. I took several days to scout the area and map the possibilities and then suddenly I knew what to do.
Spending time with fellow artists in such an intense but creative atmosphere was marvelous. we relaxed into a daily routine and it felt refreshing.
Unfortunately I had to leave early before the exhibition but this brought a wonderfully experimental result.
Mark, Liz and I projected my video of water onto various surfaces with delight. We realised that they could use my video to interact with their work. It could have a dialogue.
I trusted them and left the video with them to do with whatever they felt was appropriate.
And I think you will agree, it worked beautifully.
the rippling of the movement on various surfaces and sculptures was true collaboration.
I like this collaboration stuff.
I have come to realise that I almost prefer collaboration to working on my own. I also know that this is the path to sustainability. Being able to bring projects into existence, with others, in a harmonious way, is an important skill. I think all of our professional skills sets have been greatly enhanced over the second unit.
I am already planning possible residencies and venues for the future. I want to live in and provide a space for others to meet and collaborate.
