Collaboration has been the theme of the 2nd unit for me. Beginning wth an invite from Simon to collaborate and combine our individual pieces for the "WILDING THE EDGES" project and ending wih my collaboration with Liz on INDEX. In between, I also organically collaborated with Mark and Liz at the RODD RESIDENCY.

Collaboration affords a new and different perspective on your own ideas and the possibilities for their realisation. It is fascinating to reflect on others' perceptions and working methods - to view with different eyes.

Simon is an enormously interesting and humorous individual. He brings a quirky energy with him which is fun to be around especially in a creative sense.

Wilding the Edges was an exciting experience at times, and a disappointment at others. It began as a very ambitious concept but somehow the final exhibition did not illustrate the journey we had been on,nor the learning curve, research and inventiveness employed by some of us.

Our plan was to use my soundscape as part of a performence by Simon on the day. He set up a radio show, played my track, had a recorded interview and looped it.We then placed old tranistors around the corridor to hear the show. I thought it was very successful.

A simple idea, carried out well.

I would definitely recommend working in this very relaxed but efficient style.
